›› Welcome to India!
|
The Delhi AWA - the "American Welcome Association" - was founded in 1947. We strive to offer a soft place to land upon your arrival to Delhi. The AWA offers support and encourages friendship among fellow Americans, provides opportunities to work with local charitable organizations, and promotes a positive environment in which to learn about the Indian culture through a variety of educational and social events. We welcome and encourage all United States citizens or spouses of United States citizens living in India to become members of AWA. In the following pages we hope you find all the information you're looking for. If not, please feel to contact our office.
›› Note from our President As April nears, it means the end of the road for me as the AWA President. I could not be more thrilled to be passing the reins over to the incoming Executive Team, and am excited to see what the next year brings. I have been inspired, touched, encouraged and motivated by all of you the past two years and I know that this organization will continue to grow, and will continue to do amazing things in the Delhi/NCR. I hope to see many of you at the Spring Luncheon on April 17th (details from the AWA Office) so that we can give our appreciation to the outgoing board members and welcome the new ones into the fold with all of our support! Please give your attention to the calendar this month as soon, our special events will dwindle as summer approaches. The people in charge of planning these functions for you work hard, and it means so much when you attend and support their efforts! As the weather is now starting to warm up, and the mosquitoes are making their presence known, stay hydrated and use repellant!! See you soon,
~ Naomi Hattaway
