Ready to get involved with the AWA Holiday Mela? This is our biggest Fundraiser/Social event of the year which helps to keep our organization running.

We ask that each of our members try to donate some time to helping out on the day of the MELA, as more than anything this is meant to bring all our members together and give you an opportunity to meet each other.

In addition it is a GREAT shopping experience & "day out". The Vendors who participate are all old friends or well vetted by our Vendor Committee- so they bring the PERFECT items for Holiday Shopping.

In order to make the MELA a success we need participation from all our members- and even your Spouses, Parents, Grandparents, Children & Friends! Last year we used over 150 Volunteers (not including the Boy Scouts!)

There are various ways to help out the day of the MELA (and even in the weeks leading up to the big event!)

• Selling Entrance tickets/Raffle tickets at the Gates
• Helping in the Food Area (seating/keeping lines straight ... cleanup is handled by the Scouts)
• Day of helping in the Children's Area
• Day of helping with the Entertainment Area
• Vendor Check in (EARLY AM- 5:30-9AM)
• Vendor Check Out (4PM-6PM)
• Volunteer "floats" who can cover for any no-shows

• Publicity
• Sponsorship (attaining corporate sponsorship)
• Food (signing up food vendors)
• Entertainment (scheduling entertainment such as singing groups, dance troupes, puppet shows, etc.)
• Organizing the children's activity area
